Hi! I’m so glad you’re here
My name is Tamara Spencer and my pronouns are she/her. I’m a Registered Social Worker who is passionate about supporting people who feel like they just don’t measure up to develop more fulfilling relationships with themselves and those they love the most. In particular, I have a soft spot for working with folks focused on everything but the present, helping them build relationships that are more connected and a life that truly feels ‘worth living.’
As someone who has repeatedly been on the ‘pursuit of perfection,’ I understand how difficult it is to work so hard in every aspect of your life only to feel that you still aren’t good enough. To believe that if only you had your stuff together, that everything else would fall into place. Convincing yourself that if it just looks like you have the perfect career, relationship, and family, that somehow it will become your reality. It might feel like you’re a hamster running on a never ending wheel - exhausting, overwhelming, and just plain miserable. You’ve lost sight of what really matters to you and you feel disconnected from yourself and those you care about.
I’ve been down this same road, and what I eventually realized was that, when I spent all my time focused on being better or achieving more, I missed out on what was right in front of me.
Through our work together, I want to help you explore the origins of your ‘not good enough’ story, get in touch with your own wants and needs, and find ways to reconnect with those who are most important to you. It’s my goal to help you gain insight into what makes you tick, strengthen your tools to cope with life’s challenges, and find ways to build more fulfilling relationships. I deeply value being invited to support others as they work to make changes in their lives, and my hope is that our therapeutic relationship makes you feel safe, seen, and heard. My approach to therapy is collaborative, flexible, and focused on your strengths. I hope to create a warm space where we can get real with one another and maybe share a few laughs along the way.

Since completing my Masters in Social Work (MSW), I’ve received training in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including:
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioural approaches
trauma- and attachment-informed approaches
I’m currently able to provide virtual support to clients aged 16 and over who reside in Ontario, Canada.
