Finding Yourself

Counselling to help you understand who you are and gain the self-confidence you crave.

Maybe you arrived here if you…

  • Constantly find yourself losing battles with your inner critic

  • Don’t know how to integrate aspects of your identity to understand who you are at your core

  • Feel like you’re in the middle of an “existential crisis” with no clear way out

  • Have just experienced a big change in your life and want support to process what this means for you going forward

I’m so glad that you’re here. Read below to see if my approach may be a good fit for you.

Feeling disconnected from or lacking confidence in yourself can have significant impacts on other areas of your life

You may feel like it’s hopeless to build the life you want for yourself because every time you try, your inner critic reminds you of all the ways you continue to screw up. You may be seeking counselling for low self-confidence so you can finally boss back that voice that tells you that you’ll never be good enough.

You may also be struggling to find a clear sense of who you are because different aspects of yourself seem to clash.  You may be hiding pieces of yourself from family or friends, and would like help figuring out how to integrate each part of you into one cohesive whole.

Or maybe the current state of the world has left you questioning yourself and your path forward.  You might feel like you’re wasting each day without any clear purpose in life.  You’re looking for support to find a way out of this “existential crisis” so that you can feel connected to who you truly are underneath the chaos of the world.

You might also be seeking therapy because you’re going through a transition in life. These experiences often come with a mix of emotions: hopefulness, excitement, uncertainty, fear…  When we’ve gone through a big change in life - maybe a new job, the beginning (or ending) of a relationship, a child moving out on their own, the loss of someone you love - we can benefit from having a safe space to process this change and how to move forward in our ‘new normal.’

If this sounds like you, you need a supportive space to safely (re)connect with who you are at your core

I understand the deep sense of uncertainty that comes along with not feeling connected to who you truly are.  In our work together, I will utilize a client-centred approach to ensure that the things that mean the most to you make it to the top of our agenda.  It is my goal to create a virtual therapy space that feels safe, supported, and compassionate as you look inward to better understand yourself and what matters most to you.

I have experience working with individuals who wish to explore aspects of their identity so that they can feel more connected and authentic in their daily lives.  I understand the tremendous emotional labour that often goes along with asking (and answering!) these questions of yourself, and I will incorporate emotion regulation skills and self-compassion exercises into our sessions to ensure you have the skills you need to navigate this work safely.
