We can’t wait to connect with you! Before scheduling your first therapy session, you will be offered a free 15 minute consultation to chat about what brings you to cozy and see if you and your therapist feel like a good fit. From there, you will be emailed access to our online portal, where you can fill out intake forms prior to your first appointment. During your first session, we will chat about what you can expect from your therapist, review your intake forms, and explore what our work together could look like.

cozy therapy is currently accepting new clients! We do not have a waitlist at this time, and aim to book all consultation calls within the same week of hearing from you.

cozy therapy is able to support individuals over the age of 16 currently living in Ontario, Canada. We offer therapy that is evidence-based and draw on a number of modalities, including DBT, ACT, EFT, cognitive behavioural, and trauma- and attachment-informed approaches. We are also happy to provide a free 15 minute phone call so you can better determine if we are a good fit!

Once you decide to get started with us, we will email you a link to our online portal where you can access intake forms, review any handouts sent to you by your therapist, and enter the virtual therapy room. Existing clients can also cancel, reschedule, or book new appointments all from our secure platform. To ensure you get the most out of our online sessions, we recommend having access to a tablet, laptop, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection. Our virtual sessions also tend to work best when using Google Chrome. Finally, we suggest pouring yourself a warm drink, grabbing a fuzzy blanket, and finding a private space to get comfy prior to your online session.

As you can imagine, lots of research has been done in the past few years that tells us virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person treatment. However, virtual therapy may not be for you if you are currently living in an unsafe situation, if you are needing support to disclose trauma or abuse, or if you are experiencing a significant worsening of mental health symptoms. It may also not be a good fit if you are uncomfortable using the technology to access your appointments, have unreliable internet, or do not have a private space available to attend your appointments. In these cases, in-person therapy would likely better meet your needs.

We get it - life happens! cozy has a 24 hour cancelation policy so that you have the flexibility to move your appointment around when things come up. If you need to cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, a cancelation fee may apply. Please connect with your therapist for further information.

We recommend checking with your insurance carrier prior to your first appointment, but services provided by a Registered Social Worker are generally covered by most extended healthcare benefits. At this time we are unable to bill directly to your provider, but we always provide receipts after each session for you to submit to your insurer.

We offer several payment methods. You are welcome to send us an e-transfer just prior to your scheduled session. You can also pay by credit card. If you choose to go this route, we will securely store your preferred credit card on file and you will be charged after each session. Either way, you’ll receive a receipt soon after your session wraps!

Our current rate is $145 per 60 minute session. If your financial situation is a barrier to accessing therapy, please contact us as we are able to offer a limited number of reduced rate sessions to our clients.

cozy therapy is not able to provide crisis services. We recommend that you reach out to your local crisis line or emergency services (911) if you’re in need of immediate assistance. Your local crisis resources will be reviewed with you during your initial therapy session.
